ABOUT THE TEAM
United Urologic Innovations
United Urologic Innovations. LLC’s mission is to improve the post-procedural or long-term experience of the Foley catheter user. UUI has developed two lines of products to improve patient quality of life. The Stand Tall™ Urinary Management System allows a man to empty his leg bag discreetly and normally – all while standing at a urinal. The Stand Tall system employs a proprietary Conceal and Carry™ Leg Bag, which rests on the thigh, rather than down on the lower leg, like all other leg bags.
UUI’s GlideWear® Catheter Pain Relief Underwear reduces the pain felt while wearing a Foley catheter by off-loading the friction and shear forces responsible for much of the pain felt as it exits the body. GlideWear is a proprietary medical grade dual-ply textile with an extremely low co-efficient of friction. Placed strategically between the catheter base and the street clothing worn by the Foley user, GlideWear off-loads the friction and shear between the two layers, greatly reducing the sensation of pain often felt at the tip of the penis.
UUI is a collaboration of Roland R. Ugarte, MD, a highly experienced urological surgeon, and a core team of veteran professionals in urological/gynecological device design/development and marketing.
